Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Globelics community,
The Globelics Secretariat is looking forward to the activities in 2014, not least the annual conference – the 12th Globelics International Conference – which will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 29-31 October. Information about the conference will be available on the conference webpage. At this point the Call for Papers [pdf] can be downloaded here.
I am also very pleased to announce this year¡¯s key note speakers: Martin Bell (the 2014 Freeman Lecture) and Calestous Juma (the 2014 Globelics Lecture).
We are looking forward to an exciting conference in Ethiopia and hope to see many of you in Addis Ababa!
With the Globelics Conference in Ethiopia and the regional chapter AfricaLics now well established and working on activities in Africa, we hope to achieve synergy on learning, innovation and competence building in Africa. You can follow AfricaLics activities on the AfricaLics website.
This year¡¯s Globelics Academy, which will be held in Rio in the second part of August, is also the 10th anniversary Academy – the first Academy was held in Lisbon, Portugal in 2004. More details on the Academy will follow on the Globelics website. Here you will also be able to download the Globelics Thematic Review on Learning, innovation and low-carbon development which is expected to be published in March.
I wish you all a happy New Year and all the best for 2014!
