A conference on Development, Trade and Investment will be held in Stockholm on 26-27 August 2016 by the Stockholm China Economic Research Institute at Stockholm School of Economics, jointly organized by the National School of Development at Peking University.

 

Trade and foreign investments have played a central role in China¡¯s development since the beginning of the economic reforms. However, the role of trade and investment continues to change as high economic growth has transformed China from a low- to middle-income country.

 

This conference will collect academic papers at both the micro and macro level with the aim of providing empirical evidence concerningchallenges for development in terms of trade and investment. Papers that relate to these issues are therefore especially welcome. Topics covered may thus include but are not limited to:

¡¤         China¡¯s role in the world economy

¡¤         Economic growth

¡¤         Foreign direct investment

¡¤         Outward investment

¡¤         Industrial relocation

There is no conference fee for accepted presenters. The conference organizers will provide accommodation for two nights in a hotel close to the conference site as well as lunch free of charge.

Paper Submission Guidelines

 

Those interested in presenting a paper are invited to email a complete paper or a two-page abstract with details of methodology and data used in the empirical analysis to Ms. Nanhee Lee (nanhee.lee@hhs.se) by15 March 2016 at the latest. Authors of accepted papers will be notified within three weeks. If accepted, you are expected to submit the full paper no later than 1 June 2016.
