Call for Papers
IP Statistics for Decision Makers 2016 Conference (IPSDM 2016)
The IPSDM conference aims to discuss how intellectual property data, statistics and analysis are used and can be used to inform decision-makers in both the public and private sectors, and to identify key information needs and possible shortcomings.
The conference invites submissions on all empirical research relating to intellectual property. Submissions will be particularly welcomes with respect to the following topic areas:
•IP rights and firm performance
•The role and value of trade marks
•Collaboration and IP
•Geographical Indications and Regional IP policies
•IP and start-ups
•IP, trade and global value chains
•IP and the digital economy
This year’s IP Statistics for Decision Makers (IPSDM) conference will be hosted by IP Australia and takes place in Sydney, Australia, 15-16 November 2016.
Scientific Committee
Submissions will be evaluated by the IPSDM 2016 scientific committee, which this year includes:

· Yann Ménière, European Patent Office
· Ruud Peters, Philips (NL)

Submissions
Authors are invited to submit an electronic version of their paper, or an extended abstract of at least three pages by 3 July 2016.

Deadlines
Submissions 3 July 2016
Notification of acceptance 7 August 2016
Full papers due by 28 October 2016
Presentations due by 6 November 2016

Registration
Early Bird registrations are $400 (GST exclusive) per person and are available until 30 June 2016.
From there registrations will cost $500 (GST exclusive) per person.
The conference fee includes access to all sessions of the conference, a cocktail dinner reception at the hotel on Tuesday 15 November 2016 and a Sydney Harbour Side cruise on Wednesday 16 November 2016.

NB: Presenters of papers accepted for presentation at the conference will be exempted from paying the registration fees.
