[Call for papers]EAEPE annual conference Warsaw 2019-RAE1 |

Research Area ‘Industrial Policy and Development’ of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) is pleased to announce its call for papers to the 31st annual conference in Warsaw next September 2019.
For this year's annual Conference our research area invites papers that offer insights to the discussion on industrial development with special emphasis on the importance of structural and institutional transformation both for developed and developing countries and regions. How this transformation can be marshaled and what is the role of industrial policy in that direction? What are the main challenges to be taken into account?
Industrial development is not referring only to the manufacturing sector but to the entire supply chain, including agricultural activities and services, as there are strong interdependencies and complementarities among these productive domains.
This year in addition to its general research interests, Research Area [E1] seeks papers that fall within the following topics:
1.Global Value Chains involve the distribution of different parts of the value chain across different locations and with different degrees of control. This among other things i) challenges the way we approach policies that aim to take advantage of globalisation in order to develop dynamic domestic industries and ii) has serious implications on the ways of measurement for capturing the locus of control, the distribution of value creation and the appropriation of generated surpluses. We welcome papers along these lines of research.
2.University – Industry interactions are considered an effective stimulation mechanism for industrial and economic development. In this context, we welcome papers that study i) how Universities align their strategies with the Triple Helix concept and ii) what are the determinants of University-Industry interactions and the conditions for an effective role of University transfer offices.
3.Renewable energy policy because of visible and more serious negative multidimensional consequences of climate change is treated as a key factor in creation of a new sustainable model of economic development. We call for papers related to all aspects of renewable energy policy, regulations and especially to energy communities.

Ø 30 April, 2019: Notification of Abstract Acceptance; Registration Opens
Ø 31 May, 2019: Early Registration Closes
Ø 1 July, 2019: Late Registration Closes (for authors to be included in the scientific programme)
Ø 31 July, 2019: Submission of Full Papers Deadline
Please submit your abstract (300-750 words) through the online submission system and select RA[E1], by April 1st .
