Following the success of the Singapore Economic Review Conferences in 2005, 2007 and 2009 (close to 350 economists from 40 countries attended), we are pleased to organize the fourth conference from August 4-6, 2011 in Singapore. Past speakers included Nobel Laureates like Joseph Stiglitz and Edward Prescott, and many prominent editors and co-editors of major economics journals.

The Singapore Economic Review (SER) has been a leading journal in economics in Asia since it was founded in 1956. The SER is a general economics journal devoted to publishing papers of high academic standard. It covers a wide range of economic issues, especially those impinging on Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. SER is also indexed in major economics indices such as the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI); Google Scholar; EconLit; and RePec.

Submission Details

The first page of the paper should contain the title, authors¡¯ names, affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses. The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should contain at least three (3) keywords and the JEL code(s).

Authors are invited to submit their papers after the conference for consideration for publication in SER, subject to the usual refereeing process.

Important Dates

Full papers or abstracts are to be submitted by 31 March 2011. The authors will be notified of a decision by 30 April 2011. To enjoy the early bird discount for registration, the participants need to register before 31 May 2011. If an abstract is accepted, the full paperextended abstract should be submitted by 30 June 2011. Accepted papers will only be included in the final program if the presenting authors have registered before 30 June 2011.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the conference includes admission to all sessions, daily lunches, refreshments, a conference dinner and conference materials.
